Indigenous Perspectives: A Very Contemporary Literature, guested edited by Philip Kevin Paul, Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, and Richard Van Camp, showcases new poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction by thirty-one Indigenous writers from across “Canada,” including Jordan Abel, Louise Bernice Halfe, Daniel David Moses, Lisa Bird-Wilson, and Siku Allooloo. It also features reviews written by Indigenous and non-Indigenous critiques of recent books by Indigenous authors. With Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun’s provocative painting Christy Clark and the Kinder Morgan Go-Go Girls on the cover, the issue closes with Lynn Easton’s winning entry to the Constance Rooke Creative Nonfiction Prize, chosen by Lee Maracle.
